Workshop Location & Overnight Accommodations

The 2022 International Workshop on Agritourism (IWA) will be held August 30 - September 1, 2022 at the Hilton Burlington Hotel in Burlington, Vermont, United States of America (USA).

Host hotel: Hilton Burlington Lake Champlain

Overnight accommodations are available to Workshop participants at the Hilton Burlington Lake Champlain Hotel at a discounted group rate of $179/night (USD). All guest room rates are subject to the prevailing Burlington, Vermont city and state taxes (currently 11%; tax rates subject to change). These rates will be available until the cut-off date of August 5, 2022 or until the block is full, whichever occurs first.

PARKING: There is a city-owned parking garage adjacent to the Hilton Burlington Hotel. Current rates are $15/night and the garage allows unlimited in-and-out access. 

COVID-19 Guidelines

As of March 3, 2022: At this time, it is required for our in person participants to either be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or receive a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours of attending the conference. Proof of vaccination or negative test result will be collected in advance; details on how to submit this information will be forthcoming. We will continue to monitor the status of COVID-19 worldwide as this event will draw international participation. Additional COVID guidelines, such as a mask requirement, may be deemed necessary closer to the event start. Please check back for updates.

By Air

The airport nearest to the Hilton Burlington where meetings and events will be held is the Burlington International Airport (BTV) (approximately a 15 minute drive or ride to the hotel).

With excellent air service, Burlington International Airport (BTV) is a convenient point of entry to northern and central Vermont. It’s several major carriers provides daily direct service to domestic and international visitors to and from: Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit, Newark, New York (JFK and LGA), Philadelphia, Washington DC (IAD and DCA), and in the winter, Toronto City.

Ground Transportation to/from the Burlington International Airport: 
  • Taxi service is available at the Burlington International Airport. They are available to pick up outside of the baggage claim area. Average taxi fare between the airport to the host hotel (the Hilton Burlington, 60 Battery St, Burlington, VT 05401) is $20 each way. 
  • Uber and Lyft service the Burlington International Airport and the greater Burlington area. 
  • Bus service is available via Green Mountain Transit between the airport and the Lake Champlain Waterfront (nearby the Hilton Burlington Hotel) using the Purple Line. See details below in "By Bus" section.

  • Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport in Montreal, Quebec, Canada (approximately a 2 hour drive to the hotel)
  • Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in Manchester, New Hampshire, USA (approximately a 2 hour and 40 minute drive to the hotel) 
  • Boston Logan International Airport in Boston, Massachusetts, USA (approximately a 3 hour and 30 minute drive to the hotel)
  • Albany International Airport in Albany, New York, USA (approximately a 3 hour drive to the hotel)

By Car

Vermont is a convenient drive from anywhere in the eastern U.S. and southern Quebec and Ontario provinces of Canada. Major interstates 89 and 91 as well as Vermont state highways and scenic byways provide direct routes to downtowns and diverse outdoor recreation. Car Rental, Taxi and Limousine Services

By Rail

Travel north on the Amtrak Vermonter line from Washington D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, Hartford, or stops in Massachusetts and New Hampshire to one of nine vibrant Vermont communities offering an array of enticing attractions and events. The closest stop to the Hilton Burlington where the conference is being held is in Essex Junction (approximately 7 miles away).
